Download & Install

SourceMate is downloaded and installed via the Flash Builder/Eclipse Update Manager.

Are you upgrading from an earlier version of SourceMate?  If so, click here.

The 30 Day Free Trial is automatically activated unless you provide a valid serial number.

Requirements:

SourceMate 3.0 is compatible with official release of Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 or later.

Administrator Rights Required:

Adobe has made modifications to Eclipse’s update mechanism so that administrator rights are required to install additional plugins. If you’re using the Flash Builder standalone, you’ll need to run Flash Builder with administrator rights during the installation.

On Windows, a “Run As Administrator” option is available after right-clicking on the Flash Builder executable.

Installation:

Open the Software Install dialog by clicking on the following menus: Help > Install New Software

Once in the Install dialog, enter the following URL in the ‘Work with’ field:

http://updates.elementriver.com/sourcemate/v3

Then press Enter (clicking Add is unnecessary).

Importantly, uncheck the 'Contact all update sites during install to find required software' checkbox. Otherwise, your installation will take much longer than necessary.

Follow the remaining dialogs to complete the installation.

No Internet Access?

If you’re at a work site that does not allow internet access, you download the following package: sourcemate_3.0.0.v10232011.zip

Extract the contents of the zip to a local directory. Use this local directory in place of the remote URL in the Software Install dialog.

Get Notified of Updates

We often post new updates of SourceMate with bug fixes and small enhancements. Flash Builder (Eclipse) offers a convenient feature to notify you when new updates are available. Then its only a few clicks and a few seconds before you can have the latest version of SourceMate installed.

Unfortunately, due to modifications made by Adobe, users running Flash Builder standalone must run Flash Builder as an administrator to get update notifications. Users of Eclipse using the Flash Builder plugin do not require the same privileges.

Upgrading from Version 1.0 or 2.0?

To upgrade from 1.0 to 2.0, simply follow the same installation steps above.  It is not necessary to uninstall  the olrder version.  Eclipse/Flash Builder will perform the upgrade automatically.
